Iran’s ‘The Summer of Swans’ to go to London

Iranian short ‘The Summer of Swans’ is to go on screen at the 2020 London Kurdish filmfest in UK.

The short film ‘The Summer of Swans’ has been selected to go on screen at the 11th edition of the London Kurdish Film Festival (LKFF) in the UK.

Written and Directed by Maryam Samadi, the short narrates the story of Rasoul who is a disabled boy. Rasoul who believes in his grandmother’s tale about the healing powers of swans wishes to see one of them. Once, other children of the village see some swans while fishing in the pond. They come to Rasoul and recount the event. Rasoul decides to go to the pond with the boys and make his dream come true.

Launched in 2001, LKFF brings together films from four parts of Kurdistan and other parts of the world.

The fest is a chance to showcase films of any style, topic and genre and to bring the audience from around the world together.

The 11th edition of the event is slated for April 24-May 3, 2020.
